instead of: “I’m sorry! I’m running late.”
“That’s not going to work for me right now, but thanks for thinking of me! Maybe I’ll be available next time!” .
instead of: “I’m sorry, I would love to volunteer this weekend but I’m just so busy with the kids and work and.....”
“I would be so grateful for your help on this project. Do you have some free time this week?”
instead of: “I’m sorry to inconvenience you, but can you help me with this project?”
There are a million ways to show gratitude instead of apologizing.
Save your apologies for situations that are truly justifiable, like hurting someone’s feelings.
