Scientific benefits of being in nature

At NINE retreats, we make it a priority to be outside and spend time in nature. Not only does it give us a break from technology and the day-to-day stresses of life, but there are some scientifically proven benefits of experiencing Mother Earth.

By simply spending half an hour out in the trees and sunshine, you can boost your immune system (that means getting sick less!), lower your blood pressure, reduce the stress hormone cortisol in your body, accelerate the recovery process from working out or even from a surgery or injury, and improve your mood, just to name a few.
