Amber Rae speaks to audiences across the globe about moving beyond the worry, fear, and doubt that stifles our potential.
Her book, "Choose Wonder Over Worry: Move Beyond Fear and Doubt to Unlock Your Full Potential" (Macmillan) is a guide to navigate life’s challenges—projects that fail, imposter syndrome, feeling envious or anxious or stuck—all of those, “Am I good enough? Who am I to do this? What if I fail?” moments.

Nedra Tawwab, MSW, LCSW
THRIVE AFTER SURVIVING AN UNHEALTHY CHILDHOOD
Nedra founded Kaleidoscope Counseling, a group counseling practice, in 2011. Her niche is working with people who are managing unhealthy or difficult relationships. She also helps couples who have lost their connection to each other after being together for many years and couples needing to improve communication. Additionally, she assists professionals struggling with ‘work/life balance’, overwhelmed moms and people lacking appropriate self-care. In 2017, she created the Empowered Planner to serve as journal-inspired planner.

Kim Tran, Ph.D
Diversity, Equality & Inclusion
We’re all committed to a more equitable world, but many of us struggle when it comes to talking about difference; whether it’s related to race, gender, and sexuality or class. As women committed to inclusion, diversity and social justice, how can we grow our ability to engage identities that shape lived experience? Creating Space to Create Change is an interactive teaching session geared toward helping the participants of the NINE retreat do both. The session will focus on personal dynamics, including how to navigate challenging conversations and see your own blind spots. By engaging the individual, we will begin to actualize the micro shifts necessary for broader social change.

• Comfort discussing and addressing identity and difference
• Awareness around the impact of personal blind spots
Kim Tran is a is global equity strategist who uses a grassroots organizing and transformative justice approach in NGO, educational and non-profit spaces. For over a decade, she has facilitated trans-inclusion and anti-Black racism trainings for a wide array of organizations including Stanford University, the Northern California Association of Nonprofits and the United States Consulate. Experienced with ground level activism, organizational programming and academic research on racial and gender equality, Kim is committed to creating teams and initiatives that are diverse and sustainable.

FINDING YOUR PASSIONATE FOCUS
It’s not too late to find your passionate focus!
How often do you say to yourself: “If I’d known about this earlier in my life, it would be the ‘thing’ I’d be focusing my time and energy on!” Is it an educational pathway? A decision to volunteer somewhere? A job change? A hobby or artistic expression? Judy has stories to tell you that will inspire you to begin to journey toward your passion, regardless of your age or life circumstance. It is not too late to do what you love!

Judy has been a doula and childbirth educator, a Waldorf school handwork teacher, a dental assistant, and has run an in-home daycare center all before going back to college and obtaining a B.S. in Woman’s Wellness and Health followed by a degree in nursing. Currently her passions include facilitating support groups for new moms/infants, foster parenting, knitting, gardening, and mothering her 5 grown children (two biological, two step, and one exchange student turned daughter).

GROW THROUGH WHAT YOU GO THROUGH
Elena is a Boston Marathon bombing survivor and lives with post-traumatic stress disorder.
At NINE, Elena will share how she learned to embrace her trauma and mental challenges, advocate for herself, and grow from her experience. She is passionate about building awareness about PTSD and sharing tools and resources that have helped her heal.
A dedicated wife and mother, Elena is also the creator of Still Blooming Me, a blog about her healing journey and a resource for other terrorist attack survivors living with PTSD.
Elena resides in Arizona with her husband and children.
Shawna is offering a (complimentary) photography class during free time. Bring your DSLR, phone, point and shoot, 35mm....it doesn’t matter. All cameras and skill levels welcome.
She is also offering a limited number of mini portrait sessions; we’ll release the sign up as we get closer to September.
Shawna is an Award winning Documentary Family & Birth Photographer. She resides in Buffalo, NY with her partner and children.
